What are SCIE and SSCI?
The Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) are part of the Web of Science Core Collection owned by Clarivate. Journals indexed in them receive Journal Citation Reports metrics, including the Journal Impact Factor.

What is the difference between SCIE and SSCI?+
Both are part of the Web of Science Core Collection. SCIE covers science, engineering and medicine; SSCI covers the social sciences. The paper’s field determines which fits best.
How can I verify a journal’s Web of Science indexing?+
Through Clarivate’s official Master Journal List, searching by the journal’s ISSN rather than its name alone. We share the verification source for every journal we suggest.
